A Walk in the Woods

Grizzly Peak Grizzly Peak is visible from just about anywhere in Ashland. Grizzly lies across the valley to the Northeast.The actual hike is fairly brief, about five miles out and back from the trailhead. The summit of Grizzly Peak lies at 5,922 ft and is not the final destination along the trail; the real payoff is farther south, down from the summit.

Zoey’s Cafe & All-Natural Ice Cream

Without a doubt, Zoey’s Café & All Natural Ice Cream is the place to go whether you’re looking for a quick sandwich or a delicious serving of ice cream. Located in the heart of downtown Ashland, Zoey’s has been around for years and offers 40 unique ice cream flavors as well as a menu sporting Calzones, Foccacia sandwiches, Croissant Melts and Wraps.

Alex’s on the Plaza

Alex’s restaurant and bar on the plaza in downtown Ashland boasts live music most nights a week, alongside an award-winning menu in a building rich with history. Alex’s, at 35 N. Main St., was a shoe store, a doctor’s office, and apartments, before converting into the current restaurant in 1987.

KSOC: Get Schooled

KSOC is a student-run radio station located at Southern Oregon University on the bottom floor of the Stevenson Union. Established over twelve years ago, KSOC provides listeners with 24/7 online access to music. The station also provides opportunities to learn about what really goes into radio broadcasting.
